News Former SEC Commissioner Amatong Joins ICCP Board as Independent Director
Investment & Capital Corporation of the Philippines (ICCP) is pleased to announce the election of former Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Commissioner Atty. Ephyro Luis B. Amatong as an Independent Director during the company’s Annual Stockholders’ Meeting held on April 25, 2025.
Atty. Amatong brings a wealth of experience in sustainable finance, regulation, and governance to ICCP, one of the country’s leading independent, licensed investment houses.
He currently serves as a consultant for the World Bank Group/International Finance Corporation and as an advisor to the Sustainable Banking and Finance Network (SBFN). He also holds advisory and board positions in several leading corporations and organizations, including Asialink Finance Corporation, Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation, and Alternergy Holdings Corporation.
From 2014 to 2022, Atty. Amatong was Supervising Commissioner of the Markets and Securities Regulation Department (MSRD) and the Economic Research and Training Department (ERTD) of the SEC. He played a key role in the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) as Co-Chair of the Sustainable Finance Working Group, contributing significantly to the development of the ASEAN Green, Social, and Sustainability Bond Standards, as well as the ASEAN Taxonomy for Sustainable Finance.
His extensive government career also includes senior positions such as Assistant Secretary of the Department of Finance (DOF) and Vice President of the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC).
